Olde & New Kitties
Pyschokitty joined us on 24 August 1983 and passed on (very peacefully) in the wee hours of 22 February 1999 -- these are pictures taken of him on those first and last days.
We bought a photograph / negative scanner, and have been scanning in and cleaning up all of our pictures of him, to go up on the web page devoted to him we've started >>HERE<< -- it's still quite nascent....
A little over a month after losing PK, we went to the local humane society and adopted a couple of new kitties. They were both strays, of indeterminate age (they were classified as "young adults") and unknown provenance. They are:
Scout
Gem
Named after the characters in "To Kill A Mockingbird" (though they're both female, so we changed the spelling of "Jem" ... whose coloring also brings to mind a black opal...).
They eat out of the same bowl and sleep on the same bed...
...though sometimes Scout prefers to sleep with The Cartoonist....

They play together, primarily by attacking each other, sometimes followed by chasing each other maniacally around the house. The play is usually preceded by what appears to be affectionate grooming, which leads to nipping and biting:
